Woodland Ecosystem
Buskett, in Rabat Malta, is the only woodland to be found on the Island. A variety of trees and shrubs grow in the area. It is ecologically important since it hosts a rich biodiversity. In 2000, Birdlife created Foresta 2000, with the aim of creating another woodland area. Elaine Calleja, Sarah Farrugia and Chiara Zammit, indicate the importance of woodland ecosystems, and also the typical species that inhabit woodlands, in their presentation.
