How can forests be protected?

For forests to be protected, there must be a certain amount of legal and/or constitutional protection.  This will prevent excessive cutting of trees for various purposes.  It will ensure the control of the carbon footprint, since trees play an important part in the reduction of the greenhouse effect.  Besides it will prevent the extinction of a number of species due to habitat destruction.

This theme is discussed in the following presentation which was very well prepared by Diane Aquilina and Rebecca Shaw.
